Stopmotion animation is an animation technique as old as the invention of the cinema.
It is the ability to give life to lifeless object by moving them a little bit, one frame at a time.
My animations are made using 12 frames per seconds, which means that you have to take a picture, move the object a little bit, take an other pictures, etc. 12 times to have une second of animation.
Making of
I mostly create short commercials for social networks, from 10 to 30 seconds.
For these short I create everything :
I come up with the story, draw the storyboard, create the characters, accessories and set design, light up the scene, animate, edit and do the post production as well.
Examples of different videos
I have worked for different brands in various fields like Pierre Marcolini and Godiva, belgian chocolates for the food industry. Classic World and Italtrike in the toys industry, and even for Philippe Périssé and Aesaert in the fashion field, or Onili and Sylvain Gourlay who are music composers.
Stop motion animation can be relevant in any fields for any industry. It doesn’t have a style that works best for one typical product or brand. It is a magical and simple way to give life to your brand and products, using your actual products, showing their textures, volumes and details, and giving a “hand made” , a crafty note to the videos.
Horizon
Besides my commercial works, I have also been creating stopmotion short for weddings, baby announcements, or personal projects.
It really is a media that works in any situations.
